FCDA Organizes Retreat for Board Members

The Management of the FCDA has organized a two-day Retreat for members of the 7th Board of the Authority. The Retreat which held recently had as its theme “Abuja: the Journey so far, Constraints and the way forward”.
The Retreat was aimed at acquainting the Board members with the establishment, functions, responsibilities and challenges of the FCDA.
The Honourable Minister of the FCT, Malam Mohammad Musa Bello who is also the chairman of the Board was represented at the event by the Permanent Secretary, Sir Chinyeaka C. Ohaa.
In his opening remark, the Honourable Minister acknowledged the timeliness of the Retreat and appropriateness of the theme in addressing its major objective of adequately equipping the Board members to chart a course that will result in enduring legacies for the FCDA.
In all, five (5) papers were delivered at the Retreat. One of those who delivered papers was the former Executive Secretary of the FCDA, Engr. Mohammed Sani Alhassan who spoke on the topic: “Challenges in the Provision of Engineering Infrastructure in FCT: the Past, Present and Future strategies of the Federal Capital Development Authority”.
Engr. Alhassan canvassed in his paper the need for adequate budgetary allocations and fund releases to the FCDA for ongoing infrastructural projects.
He stated further that “prioritization and a creative funding arrangement should be employed in the effort to provide Engineering infrastructure to undeveloped Districts as this will ensure the smooth inter-connectivity of Engineering infrastructure”.
