President Tinubu rounds off 9-Day visit to FCT

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has rounded off a 9-day visit to the Federal Capital Territory during which he commissioned some projects as part of the activities marking his first anniversary in office. The historic visit lasted from May 28 to June 8, 2024.

Besides the Honourable Minster of the FCT, Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike and the Honorable Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud who played host to the Minister, the Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), Engr. Shehu Hadi Ahmad who chaired the Technical Committee for the Presidential visit also gave an overview of all the projects inaugurated by the President.

Among the projects inaugurated were the Flag-off of the commencement of commercial operation of the Abuja Rail Mass Transit System, the Southern Parkway from the National Christian Centre to Ring Road 1, the provision of Engineering Infrastructure to Wuye District, and the Extension of the Inner Southern Expressway (ISEX) from the Outer Southern Expressway (OSEX).

Others were the Full-scope Development of Arterial Road N20 from Northern Parkway to Outer Northern Expressway (ONEX), Roads B6, B12, and Circle Road in Central Business District, Expansion of the Outer Southern Expressway from Villa Roundabout to OSEX/Ring Road 1 Junction as well as the Provision of Engineering Infrastructure to Guzape District Lot ll and the Vice President’s Residence.

Some of the highlights of the Presidential visit were the naming of Arterial Road N20 as Wole Soyinka Way and the Southern Parkway as Bola Ahmed Tinubu Way.
