Acting Executive Secretary Showers Praises on Retired Directors on Contributions to Abuja’s Development.

“They have all put in their youthful lives into the service of this city. If you look at Abuja as it is, if you look at the time you came, late 80s and the progress that has been made, even though sometimes we think we are a bit behind schedule, the impact, the progress is great. And all these could not have been achieved without your contribution. And so, on behalf of the Authority, FCDA, I want to thank each and every one of you for your contributions.

Those were the words of gratitude from the Acting Executive Secretary of the FCDA, Engr. Richard Yunana Dauda during the valedictory session organized by the Executive Management Committee (EMC) for five of their members who retired from the services of the Authority recently. The retirees were Arc. Musa Hassan (Public Building), Engr. Ferdinand Obiora Ezeoha (Engineering Services), Engr. Emmanuel Abiodun Oluwadamisi(Mass Housing/Public- Private- Partnership), Arc. Robert Unde (Public Building) and Arc. Eze Celestine Sunday (Special Duties, in the Office of the Executive Secretary).

The Acting Executive Secretary noted that members of the EMC were  proud and happy of their individual contributions to  the development of the city, considering the fact that many of their contemporaries who joined the service same period with them, could not continue due to so many reasons, but they, by the grace of God, held on till the end.” By the grace of God, you started, you worked the work and you finished and you finished well.”, he said.

He told the retirees to keep their doors open so that whenever the FCDA needs to tap into their  wealth of experience and knowledge, such could easily be made available and urged them never to hesitate to call them (EMC members) to order whenever and wherever they go wrong in the course of discharging their duties.

Other members of the EMC who took turns to speak paid glowing tributes to their former colleagues, describing them as warm, friendly, professional, mentors, good team leaders, approachable, and people who held nothing back in their services to the Authority. They prayed and wished them well in their retirement.

While responding in turns, the retirees said it was a privilege to have worked with the FCDA, describing the Management Team as a family, a home, where a strong bond exists, urging their colleagues still in service to sustain it.

They were unanimous on the fact that they were leaving the FCDA in capable hands considering the array of varied professionals that exist in the Authority.
