It was a family affair and a day of joy when the Executive Secretary, Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), Engr. Richard Yunana Dauda, on Saturday 28th March, 2026, gave his first daughter’s hand in marriage. His daughter, Engr. Bernice Shekwokambolo and Dr. Sobokyamba Melchizedek Tanto, tied the knot at the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) Church, Wuse II, Abuja.
The FCT Minister, Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike was represented by the FCT Acting Head of Service, Mrs. Nancy Sabanti Nathan at the occasion. Also in attendance were family members and friends of the couple from home and abroad, members of the FCDA/FCTA family, as well as colleagues and associates of both the Executive Secretary and the groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Tanto.
Speaking on the event, the Executive Secretary expressed gratitude to God for his daughter getting married. He said, “Bernice is a daughter I saw grow up, very determined and very hardworking. She studied Biomedical Engineering in Germany, where she excelled. Now, she has come back, and God somehow joined her with her husband. And so, it has been a time of celebration.”
He wished the couple a successful marriage, and expressed confidence that they would do well. “You know when a father gives out his daughter, he feels he loses something, but in this case, it is a win-win on both sides. So, I thank God”, he stated.
The wedding was preceded the previous day with a send forth in her honour at the Peachvine Marquee, Wuye, Abuja.
